Matthew Linklater, author of Quick Witted: Saying the Right Thing to Win Big and trainer in the areas of business and personal success, writes about IBM’s talented employees, the staff’s passion for innovation and the company’s commitment to financial performance.

Chicago, IL – July 18, 2011 - Matthew Linklater, certified practitioner and coach of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, expert in Time Line TherapyTM, hypnotist, speaker and author, recently published an article on his website (www.thelinklater.com) about the reasons why commitment to financial success is the key to longevity in any company’s lifetime. The article, titled “Gut Check: Is your Business Being All That It Can Be,” suggests that without the right sales, marketing and communication strategies, your talented team might not succeed.

Linklater writes, “In a recent article published by Fast Company magazine, the businesswoman who wrote the article, Michelle Randall, closely examined one of today’s more profitable and high impact companies, IBM, in an effort to break apart three keys to what makes them one of the best. She writes, “Ever wonder what it takes to truly become the best of the best? For 100 years? If you’re going to be the best, commit to it–not once a year during strategy formulation or an annual event, but everyday in your culture, hiring and financial decisions… Well, through the course of her article, Randall reveals her analysis: she claims that IBM’s outrageous success is the direct result of their choices to “create a freak show,” [of talented staff] “cultivate frustration” and “commit and recommit and recommit.””

“Here is where marketing and sales come in. If you have built your staff up with passionate, talented people, but not provided them with the tools that they need to position your business for sales success, then you will never be the best of the best. By using the right advisors and consultants on sales and communication techniques, you can see your influx of business shoot up. Call us today for a consultation,” argues Linklater.

Matthew Linklater and Denise Wayman are co-founders of TheLinklater.com and former Vice Presidents of three fortune 100 companies and are accomplished motivational speakers and life-changers. Authors of three books, Quick Witted: Saying The Right Thing to Win Big, Basic Training: Sales Boot Camp, and Counter Attack with legendary Brian Tracy, these two Sales Gurus combine extensive business experience with their expertise as certified master practitioners, trainers and coaches of Neuro-Linguistic Programming in conjunction with Time Line TherapyTM to help you exceed your sales goals!

The entire article can be found at http://thelinklater.com/2011/07/gut-check-is-your-business-being-all-that-it-can-be/

In your business, you might be enjoying the highs of profitability and success. Perhaps clients are walking in your doors without relief. Or, maybe you and your business partners are struggling to influence sales and growth like you thought you could. Either way, the goal is the same. You want increased revenues and business growth in a way that will set you apart competitively in your marketplace. Right? Well, I’m here to help you accomplish that.

In a recent article published by Fast Company magazine, the businesswoman who wrote the article, Michelle Randall, closely examined one of today’s more profitable and high impact companies, IBM, in an effort to break apart three keys to what makes them one of the best. She writes, “Ever wonder what it takes to truly become the best of the best? For 100 years? If you’re going to be the best, commit to it–not once a year during strategy formulation or an annual event, but everyday in your culture, hiring and financial decisions.”

Well, through the course of her article, Randall reveals her analysis: she claims that IBM’s outrageous success is the direct result of their choices to “create a freak show,” “cultivate frustration” and “commit and recommit and recommit.” The word, “freak,” here, is actually strongly positive. Randall explains, “In this case freaks are those rare individuals whose unique insights and approaches create an extraordinary impact and singular working environment. Great leaders are freaks who catalyze extraordinary results. Breakthrough scientists are freaks who change our understanding of possibility. Exceptional salespeople are freaks that every company would be thrilled to have.”

Frustration, she explains, is “passion combined with impatience … As a result, frustration has an important place in achieving results, and the frustrated freaks will lead the way.” IBM is successful because the company is lead by individuals who are highly skilled and bold enough to think outside of the box. Furthermore, they are passionately driven to pursue product improvement and serve a niche of the marketplace that has not yet been filled. Does your team have the best leaders in place? And have you set the bar for a standard of success in serving your clients, customers, or patients?

Finally, the best of the best in innovative businesses have an ability to commit and recommit to the company’s financial success. The leadership must have an “unwavering vision and quarterly financial recommitment to push the forefront of research,” says Randall. The truth is that just like a scientist or researcher, many business owners start their company because they have a passion for serving their customer market’s needs, using the training that they specifically have that suits those needs. A doctor just wants to help heal patients. An author just wants to write without restraint. A fashion designer only wants to create the award winning masterpieces of clothing from fabric and thread.

However, the key missing link is the importance of committing to the business vision and financial performance. Here is where marketing and sales come in. If you have built your staff up with passionate, talented people, but not provided them with the tools that they need to position your business for sales success, then you will never be the best of the best. By using the right advisors and consultants on sales and communication techniques, you can see your influx of business shoot up. Call us today for a consultation!

Matthew Linklater, author of Quick Witted: Saying the Right Thing to Win Big and trainer in the areas of business and personal success, writes about how crunching the right numbers in your business will be the key to sales flow success.

Chicago, IL – July 12, 2011 - Matthew Linklater, certified practitioner and coach of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, expert in Time Line TherapyTM, hypnotist, speaker and author, recently published a blog on his website (www.thelinklater.com) about how computing your business’s ratios and statistics will open the flow of sales like a water spigot. The blog, titled “If You Want Your Treasure, Get Ready to Measure” encourages business owners to combine their industry knowledge with these business tactics for long term profitability.

Linklater writes, “Lately, I’ve gotten into the habit of coining the phrase, “If it doesn’t get measured it doesn’t get done!” In all honesty, many people who start a business are just excited to practice the trade, skill or talent that they’ve spent years learning and perfecting. If you’re a doctor, you probably are more interested in healing your patients, than running a business. If you own a hair salon, you might care more about creating stylish fashions than crunching profit numbers. But we all know that the bottom line matters. Bottom line! Right? So, the … well… bottom line is that if business owners don’t take time to crunch numbers and determine their revenue requirements, they will not ever see the incredible profits that they are fully capable of achieving.”

“This is where your industry knowledge and acumen can combine with my business experience and skills to create a dynamic company that will beat your competition. I like to refer to your sales as a spigot. When you understand how to generate leads and convert those into sales, you are essentially learning how to turn on the water spigot – your source of sales flow. Once you acquire the right communication, marketing and sales tools to achieve a rapid flow of business, then you’ll be basking in the cool waters of success! It’s all about the measurement of your business’s key ratios and statistics. Know your numbers and then you know how to turn on the spigot to make the money and sales flow easily,” argues Linklater.

Matthew Linklater, author of Quick Witted: Saying the Right Thing to Win Big and trainer in the areas of business and personal success, writes about the importance of comprehensive and thorough sales training for front desk staff.

Chicago, IL – July 11, 2011 - Matthew Linklater, certified practitioner and coach of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, expert in Time Line TherapyTM, hypnotist, speaker and author, recently published an article on his website (www.thelinklater.com) about the ways his unique, copyrighted training techniques are able to convert your business’s marketing dollars to product and service sales. The article, titled “Phone Money Drain,” suggests that lost sales are suffocating many companies’ revenue potential, without proper communication techniques!

Linklater writes, “Your phone might be costing you a lot more than the payment for phone service that you’re making every month. How? While the dollars that you’re investing in your marketing are being invested well, without proper training of your front line team answering the calls that your marketing is driving in, the prospective clients that are calling might never end up taking that next step and buying your products and services. There’s an easy solution. Our masterful communication training for your reception or administrative team will turn this money drain around into a profitable situation – right before your eyes!”

“How can we help fix this money drain? The techniques that we use in our Green Zone Scheduling program leverage the subconscious communication cues that are underlying everyday business conversations. Our team has integral education and training in Neuro Linguistic programming that we use to train your call staff for success. We have a unique and unbeatable process for working with your staff to train your people to make them right. Don’t worry about finding the right people – just worry about making the people you have on your staff… right! We can help you do that,” argues Linklater.

Lately, I’ve gotten into the habit of coining the phrase, “If it doesn’t get measured it doesn’t get done!” In all honesty, many people who start a business are just excited to practice the trade, skill or talent that they’ve spent years learning and perfecting. If you’re a doctor, you probably are more interested in healing your patients, than running a business. If you own a hair salon, you might care more about creating stylish fashions than crunching profit numbers. But we all know that the bottom line matters. Bottom line! Right? So, the … well… bottom line is that if business owners don’t take time to crunch numbers and determine their revenue requirements, they will not ever see the incredible profits that they are fully capable of achieving.

Let me break is down for you. If you are running a business in boat rentals, for example, you will need to calculate your cash outflow every month (taking into consideration any irregular maintenance costs that need to be factored in) and then from there, you can begin to calculate your cash inflow. Once you know the dollar amount that you need to maintain your desired profit margins on a monthly basis, you can begin to have fun with generating sales and business activity.

This is where your industry knowledge and acumen can combine with my business experience and skills to create a dynamic company that will beat your competition. Know your numbers and then you know how to turn on the spigot to make the money and sales flow easily!

Your phone might be costing you a lot more than the payment for phone service that you’re making every month. How? While the dollars that you’re investing in your marketing are being invested well, without proper training of your front line team answering the calls that your marketing is driving in, the prospective clients that are calling might never end up taking that next step and buying your products and services. There’s an easy solution. Our masterful communication training for your reception or administrative team will turn this money drain around into a profitable situation – right before your eyes!

Did you know that between 25% and 50% of possible revenues are lost on that first phone call, with an untrained staff? We’ve trained offices to increase their profit capturing abilities with great success, and we’ve mastered the process of capturing your clients. We’ve seen that 40% of only callers are reaching a live person, and when your prospective customer does reach your front desk staff, we find that 90% of those folks are untrained and unable to convert the call into a sale or appointment.

How can we help fix this money drain? The techniques that we use in our Green Zone Scheduling program leverage the subconscious communication cues that are underlying everyday business conversations. Our team has integral education and training in Neuro Linguistic programming that we use to train your call staff for success. We have a unique and unbeatable process for working with your staff to train your people to make them right. Don’t worry about finding the right people – just worry about making the people you have on your staff… right! We can help you do that.

So why is this all important? Your team members have an inward-focused outlook. They are working for your business to pay their bills, provide their family with an income, and put in their work hours every day. While, alternatively, your work ethic flows more outwardly. You’re interested in improving and growing your business as well as running a smooth system that is efficient and effective. We work with your team and also with you to stop the financial bleeding of lost business. We show you how to set your strategic goals and break those down into actionable instructions for your reception staff to follow. The structure and training that you provide for their success will meet both their needs for working effectively and earning their keep, as well as your goals of attracting new customers and clients.

My fiancée and business partner, Denise, and I have helped numerous businesses plug the biggest money drain in their business – the phone. Our team’s master training in communication has broken people’s fear of phones and selling in ways that reach down to a psychological level. Our training goes beyond simple script instructions, to actually shift your staff’s attitude about booking appointments and selling your products and services. We’ve worked with doctor’s offices, insurance agencies and more to increase their phone conversions up to 80% conversion rate to set appointments! I dare you to take the plunge and hire us to help you plug the biggest money drain in your business – your phone. You could see the same or even better results because of your willingness to provide your team with the training that they need to do a good job for you.

Matthew Linklater, author of Quick Witted: Saying the Right Thing to Win Big and trainer in the areas of business and personal success, writes about the importance of a company’s preparation for processing sales.

Chicago, IL – July 6, 2011 - Matthew Linklater, certified practitioner and coach of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, expert in Time Line TherapyTM, hypnotist, speaker and author, recently published a blog on his website (www.thelinklater.com) about one of our marketplace’s biggest online retailers and their recent failure in preparing for processing sales from their promotion. The blog, titled “Are You Missing Sales Opportunities?” encourages business owners to equip their staff with the proper training in order to avoid this kind of sales mishap.

Linklater writes, “Buyers are going goo goo for Lady Gaga! In fact, recently, Amazon.com ran a promotion for the popular pop singer, Lady Gaga. However, the company was not prepared for the wave of consumer response, as customers bombarded the online retailer with interest. The company has actually had to re-release the promotion to accommodate the number of customers whose purchase was backlogged due to the barrage of hits.”

“I see this type of mistake happen all the time, and your company does not have to be a victim of a blooper like this. The critical factor is your staff’s ability to carry the torch of your marketing dollars through the sales process. Whether your next business step is an online purchase transaction, or an appointment confirmation, you must ensure that your company is ready to smoothly handle the business that your marketing dollars are generating,” argues Linklater.

The entire blog can be found at http://thelinklater.com/2011/07/are-you-missing-sales-opportunities/

Buyers are going goo goo for Lady Gaga! In fact, recently, Amazon.com ran a promotion for the popular pop singer, Lady Gaga. However, the company was not prepared for the wave of consumer response, as customers bombarded the online retailer with interest. The company has actually had to re-release the promotion to accommodate the number of customers whose purchase was backlogged due to the barrage of hits.

According to a recently released article on the Wall Street Journal about this business blooper, “The promotion is part of Amazon’s strategy to win customers from Apple Inc.’s iTunes store, which controls the vast majority of the digital-music market. Amazon offered the Lady Gaga album as part of its daily deal for its online music store. It is losing money on the album, which has a wholesale price of about $9, but hopes to draw more business with such popular deals.”

This is a critical mistake that all businesses can learn from. Imagine that in your business, you have spent significant dollars on your marketing and sales promotions to win buyers. You have invested in advertising, a fancy website, and even profit-losing discounts like Amazon’s, in order to get calls coming in and people walking through your doors. You’ve done all this, and then – WHAT?!?!? Your operation is not prepared to handle the business?

I see this type of mistake happen all the time, and your company does not have to be a victim of a blooper like this. The critical factor is your staff’s ability to carry the torch of your marketing dollars through the sales process. Whether your next business step is an online purchase transaction, or an appointment confirmation, you must ensure that your company is ready to smoothly handle the business that your marketing dollars are generating.

Don’t miss out on sales opportunities from being unprepared! With proper training, your front line staff can learn efficient and effective communication and operation skills for driving your prospects to sales, and for keeping those customers once you have buy-in.
